WILMARK, the founder of SALSA WEEK ROMANIA, is the promoter of Latin dance in Romania, being the follower of Albert Torres, who was the promoter and the soul of Latin dance at the international level.
Albert Torres was a popular, world-class Latin dance promoter. In 1994 he founded Albert Torres Productions, Inc. His hard work and determination made him a very successful choreographer on the West Coast of Latin music. Albert Torres has organized and produced the first three El Dia di San Juan Festivals, opening the Ford Summer Nights Theater season, and in 1996 he received the Best Salsa Club Promoter Award for the Latino Music from Latino Music Awards.
Born in the remote and sunny Columbia, Wilmark graduated from the „Colegio de los Andes” at the Escuela de Danza y Musica Latinoamericana in Bogota.
As life moves our paths in unpredictable ways, longing for his native country, the tropical atmosphere, and the people who made it, Wilmark wanted to bring to our lands, at least a fraction of the rhythms and the passion of Latin-American dances . Wilmark has been remarked by his traditional „Salsa Mambo” dance style through perfect body control, well-rounded movements and vibrations that naturally emanate, and the dance ring has become his passion. In preparation for the Colombian dance school, he started dancing as an instructor and formed his own dancing band as well as the „Wilmark Dance Academy” Latino dance school.
Wimark is the soul of promoting the latino dance and the latino community in Romania for over 15 years, being also the founder of the Romanian Dancing Association, known as „Asociația Română de Dans”.
The SALSA WEEK ROMANIA Festival is one of the most popular Latino dance festivals in Romania, and has become more and more popular nowadays.
The fact that dance has evolved a lot lately is due to the fact that more and more people have realized that dancing, exceeds far the level of a simple passion and is very beneficial to the human body.
Most people see dancing as a simple way to spend your free time. But dance is much more. Specialists have defined dance as one of the easiest and most fun ways to keep the body moving, and in addition, practicing dance is recommended because it brings with it a number of other benefits such as stress reduction, protects the heart and energizes the body.
The Romanian Dance Association alongside with the Wilmark Dance Academy will stage the biggest Latin show in Romania during the 13th edition of the Romania Salsa Week festival, 2017. For seven days, the participants will live „the real latin Flavor „through dance lessons and demonstration shows performed by Romanian champions, representatives of salsa schools in the country and special guests of the event. By becoming a standard event, the Romania Salsa Week festival is entirely dedicated to Latin-style music and Latin-dance enthusiasts in the country and abroad, also known as the „Salsa Dancers Holiday”.

Only full-time, week full-time, full-weekend passes can be registered.
The 1st place is rewarded with the title Best Romanian Salsa Team and the ammount of 500 EURO.
- Freestyle Latin Dance Contest 2017
Only full-time, week full party or bracelet visitors can enter the contest on the day.
The 1st place is rewarded with the title Best Romanian Salsa Freestyle Couple and the amount of money gathered from all enrollment fees.
- Jack & Jill Contest
Registration is free of charge.
Only those who have a full-time week Pass may enter the competition.
The 1st place is rewarded with the Full-Salsa Salsa Week Pass of 2018.
- Romania Latin Dance Cup 2017 Contest
Only people who have the Week Pass, Week Vama Party Pass, Weekend Vama Pass, or Weekend Customs Party Pass may enter the competition.
The first place is rewarded by qualifying at the „World Latin Dance Cup” in Miami, USA, a contest founded by Albert Torres.
